What are Neuromas?
A neuroma is an enlargement or thickening of the nerve under a weightbearing area of the foot causing numbness, tingling and sharp shooting pains. The most commonly found neuroma is a “Morton’s neuroma” between the third and fourth metatarsals with pain under the ball of the foot extending through the toes. An arch support helps to lift and spread the metatarsal arch which may relieve the neuroma.
