POSITION: DIRECTOR OF RETAIL OPERATIONS
In an effort to continue to grow our franchise business to over 400 stores in the next 3 years, Good Feet must continue to offer its franchisees a higher level of corporate support and help them build sales in an ever-increasing competitive retail environment. To reach this goal, Good Feet has created a position called “Director of Retail Operations.” This person will act as a direct communication link between the corporate office and franchisees. This person will build sales and the brand of The Good Feet stores by developing strategies with the marketing and sales team and communicating those to the stores. They will act as the “voice” of the franchisees to provide corporate feedback on store design, fixtures, products, POP/POS, training, and selling programs to enhance sales growth. This person must have knowledge and experience working in both the wholesale and retail environments.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 7+ years of retail management and preferably owning your own retail operation.
- BS/BA degree
- 7+ years of wholesale sales management and/or as a sales rep.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Marketing and merchandising experience with design and implementation at retail.
- Ability to take ideas and concepts and be able to translate them into real world situations.
- Familiar with development and implementation of training programs and how to build them into the selling process.
- Ability to travel nationwide.
- Computer skills with MS word, powerpoint, excel.
- Able to work within budgets and be able to help be a prominent team member to develop corporate mandates and bring input from the franchisees.
- Experience with working with vendors and developing lasting relationships for building the Good Feet brand.
- Strong background in the after-market insole and orthotic business. Preferably with time spent in the medical business and Pedorthics.
DUTIES:
- Develop and test merchandising, sales, and marketing ideas within the corporate stores and use the results to help stores increase sales and build the Good Feet brand.
- Be able to communicate effectively with corporate and with stores.
- Write, develop, test and implement in-store training to grow sales and maintain the Good Feet Brand at retail.
- Be able to spend at least one week per month at corporate to work with company stores and office management team to continue to offer franchisees strong support.
- Meet with and develop strong vendor relationships with footwear, sock, and accessory vendors that will help meet Good Feet criteria and sales objectives.
- Be able to train and grow Good Feet arch insert business and train stores on how to sell, service and grow this area of the business.
- Be an integral part of the annual franchise meetings and be able to run programs in the areas of responsibility.
- Communicate and liaison with Franchise development, marketing, and executive management teams and help give insight and guidance to all areas.
- Travel and work with franchise stores over the year.
- Be able to develop and manage a team of other outside trainers and merchandisers as the amount of stores grows over the years.
- Help develop sales incentive and service programs for stores.
- Review and develop special programs and events to help stores and the Good Feet brand grow in sales.
- Help store development to identify areas for new store growth and expansion. Identify stores that are not meeting the Good feet brand, and take appropriate action.
- Help as an integral part of the management team to help set direction and future direction to reach all Good Feet fiscal and corporate goals.
