The Softie is designed to cushion the arches, preserving them against damage from step-shock. Rather than re-aligning the arches or redistributing pressure through the foot, the Softie forms an arch-shaped “pillow” between the foot and the hard surfaces on which it walks, removing stress and tension from aching bones, ligaments and tendons.

What’s in a Softie?

Gel Cushion
With the exception of the heel plug, the entire Softie is made of a gel material that easily absorbs the shock waves that course through the feet and body with each step. This gel material is dense enough to stand up to the pressure of body weight exerted against concrete floors with each step.

What Does It Do, And How Can It Help?
The Softie flexes easily under the mobile foot, accommodating its every move in a closed-heel shoe. This multipurpose cushion can gently nurse the most aching and tired feet, while providing arch support in the form of raised and reinforced arch shapes.

Molded Arch Support
The Softie features a slight heel cup, and support for the inner and outer arches in the form of reinforced construction below those arches. Reinforced Heel Cushion
The heel end of the Softie features a raised heel cushion made of a denser gel compound. This extra-padded area is designed to reduce shock to the body every time the heel strikes the ground.

What Does It Do, And How Does It Help?
Every step each foot takes begins when the heel makes contact with the ground, in what is called “heel strike.” When the heel strikes the ground, up to three times the body’s weight can be exerted on the bones and tissues of the heel. This puts the heel under tons of stress, especially if it is not properly supported. The Softie’s heel cushion is designed to absorb most of this impact, thereby reducing stress to the entire body.
